Question,"Is it worse to fail or never attempt in the first place?"
Personally, I believe it is worse to never attempt at all. What would life be if no one took chances, stretched the limits, and went for their dreams? That would be a life I would not want to live.
If you try and then you fail, at least you tried. You know that you have the strength to try again regardless of if you fail.
Failing is a learning experience to try a different route and keep moving forward towards your dreams, and in this life you can never give up on what you truly want, and what makes you happy.
Thank you for the question, if anyone needs any advice or just has any questions please feel free to send me more!

I agree. Failing is another set of new goals for a new set of journey where everyone is being tested and molded. Nothing can grow if they never tasted the bitterness of life nor will enjoy the sweetness of victory.
