Hello! Hope all is well with you all. On to the next band.
The band, Steppenwolf. They formed in Toronto, in 1967, and are currently active. They have sold over 25 million records worldwide. The band has gone through many lineup changes throughout the years, with the frontman, John Kay, being the sole band member left of the original lineup (from 1967). Below, I am linking one of the most popular songs of Steppenwolf, probably one of the two main ones one may think of when people think of, when they think of the band... Anyways, enjoy!

Well, apparently they are actually half Canadian/half American.. And also the singer is from Germany or Russia or somewhere over there, can't remember which, but the original core formed in Canada. Also, it's funny you mention Gordon Lightfoot, he's from my hometown, we take pride in him being from here, haha :)

great record - guess everyone knows Born To Be Wild from its use in Easy Rider - their name comes from a Herman Hesse novel - didn't know they were Canadian

Yes, good record, indeed! Ooh, did not know that tidbit about their name, very interesting, thanks for sharing! Yes, well.. As I researched further, the band is about half Canadian and half American.. And the lead singer is from somewhere in Europe, I believe Germany.

Sorry to have to keep repeating this, as I am for everyone, but apparently they are half Canadian/half American, and the core of the band started in Canada, though the singer is from either Germany or Russia, can't remember which one. Also, yes.. Born to be Wild is a great song! :)
