In my place, Bali island, where most of its residents are Hindu, people usually use frangipani and other kinds of flowers in small pallets of offerings (little carafes of flowers and piles of petals ) for daily worship. The fragrant frangipani also adorn gods and goddess statues. The flowers of frangipani mean a lot in my place. They seem to become the characteristic of this small island. My friends, what flower that seems to be the characteristic of your place? What flower is the most popular in your place?

Here in the USA in NC, we have a lot of lillies, roses, and peonies. The photo there looks a lot like the Plumeria we had growing in our yard in Hawaii.

Lots of beautiful flowers grow well in your country. Do you plant any of them in your yard? I think the flower in that picture which I know as frangipani is indeed the plumeria.

@Ayuriny That's cool! I didn't know it has different names. That was the most common, but to me the prettiest flower on the island. My husband grows flowers in our yard, I'm afraid I have a brown thumb. If I look at them too long, they just die.

@1creekgirl Haha...is it that bad? But I believe that there are certain people who seem to have 'talent' in gardening, like your husband. . So, what flowers does your husband grow in your yard?

I don't think we have any one flower that is characteristic of my country, but my personal favourite are begonias. I'll attach a picture of some that I grew this year.

Is that a kind of jasmine? But I think the genuine jasmine has more petals and is more blooming than the flower you have.
