A report from Buster Olney of ESPN said on Saturday the Detroit Tigers are open to trade outfielder Justin Upton, right handed starting pitcher Justin Verlander and first baseman Miguel Cabrera before the star of the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
The Tigers finished in second place in the American League Central Division with a record of 86 wins and 75 losses which was 2.5 games away from qualifying to make the playoffs for the second straight year.
One reason this event could take place is that the Tigers realize that Upton, Cabrera and Verlander are not getting younger and that they may be looking either to rebuild their team for the near future or they feel they need new players from other teams so they can be in contention to make the playoffs in 2017.

It will be hard to move Upton as Detroit signed him to a big contract just last season.
