The Thrill of Toast and Tea

Toasters and I have a mixed history. I got my first one many years ago when I had a small kitchenette area in my parents home. It was seldom used. While I had an electric teapot, a fridge, a microwave and a table and chairs - my kitchen area was arranged much like a maze, there was storage in that room too, and most meals were shared, so that was alright, but I had my own toaster, all the same. An inexpensive off brand, but it did serve me well. Until I lit a fire in it that is. A piece of toast got stuck and by the time I noticed it, it was on fire. Well, even though I scrubbed the insides of it , it remained somewhat charred and while it still worked I never really trusted it. So I gave in today and bought a new one. I must be getting old because I find it really exciting -- it's red and has setting for thaw and bagel. So I had to try it out tonight along with my green tea. Ah thrilling indeed. Photo, Mine

it's actually kinda cute... It sure does feel really good to buy such things for oneself. It's like you are slowly learning to take care of yourself..

Ah care of myself is a new experience for me, but not for the same reasons as one might think. I was a live in caretaker for many years for my parents. Now they have outside help and now I see how it is to take care of myself primary , only helping as needed with my parents... hope made sense?

I tend to fare badly with electrical appliances too

But did you eat the burnt toast?

My toaster has started to smell a bit dodgy, as if it's about to burst into flames. It must be full of crumbs. Ah, you are a green tea drinker too. Do you find it helps burn calories?

Oh no... I don't know if I would trust toaster. I love green tea though it took a little to get used to the taste. Unfortunately haven't seen any weight loss from it but I think it's very healthful.
