I am blessed that we didn't from the path of the recent typhoon who passed this country days ago. But it was unfortunately to those who got struck by some of it's parts, more over to the eyes of it's storm.
Now, there is a news article I think that no aide come from other countries and left victims wondering.
I think we suffered the worst disaster and corruption from the haiyan tragedy back in 2013. Money and donations were poured in but it was totally mismanaged and some were put into people's pockets.
This time the DSWD's packaging of relief goods was organized and the President visited typhoon affected areas and distributed them too.
Tuguegarao City, Cagayan October 23, 2016 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte distributed relief goods and shelter assistance to the families in Tuguegarao City as...

No financial aide has been given yet for the victims of Typhoons Karen and Lawin because our Department of Foreign Affairs haven't asked for help yet. They are waiting to get a go signal from our DSWD to start asking from humanitarian aid from other countries. So far though, DSWD has assured the country that we have enough funds, 32 million, from what I heard in the news, for our calamity fund.
About, money being mismanaged from Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan as it is known internationally), we have only received a fraction of what was pledged. Not sure about the mismanagement issue but I'm guessing it is just politics rearing its ugly head.

Well, I hope we didn't need to ask for foreign aide after what the president has done and said in the past few days @allen0187

@Letranknight2015 I do hope that we can stand on our own but let us all be realistic, no one country can live on its on in this day and age. Countries are interdependent to one another.
Also, the President declared 'separation' (whatever that means, I'll leave it to his people to explain it) from the US but have pledged allegiance to both China and Russia (China, Russia, and us against the world). That isn't being independent at all from where I stand.

It was all such a waste, and didn't you know I gave more than a dozen of canned goods back then! What a total waste indeed @magallon

@Letranknight2015 it is better if you distributed it by yourself.
If those aides pass through government agencies surely it wont reach the hands of those who needs it.

I think this time the packaging is automatic and it's more organized than before, they won't fooled around with duterte, that's for sure.

And that's what corruption can do! It can victimize innocent people who are affected by strong typhoons! And in the past, some of the relief goods (food) got rotten because they were not delivered at once to the victims! Now it's a different thing, courtesy of Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.

That's the worst thing that's happened in 2013, seeing those donated goods rotten to our very eyes @acelawrites
