Did you know that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated and this probably applies to half of the population in the world? What about you?
I know I don’t drink enough water, so I am really concentrating on that here lately. I wake up with my mouth so dry, that I can barely swallow.
The truth is that even slight dehydration can slow down a person’s metabolism, so if you are trying to lose weight, your water intake is VERY important. Drinking a glass of water can actually shut down hunger pangs.
What about daytime fatigue? Lack of water is the #1 trigger, so if you feel tired, drink a glass of water right away. Eight to ten glasses of water every day is recommended to ease back and joint pain and difficulty with short-term memory and focusing.
Drinking lots of water can also decrease the risk of colon cancer, breast cancer and bladder cancer, according to the latest research.
Are you drinking enough water?

We really should ALL drink more water. It's very important. I'm really making an effort to do so.

I didn't always drink water like I should. It was for all kinds of reasons. These days, I still drink everything else, but I do drink more water. A lot more. Now, I drink about 2 gallons a day. If its really hot outside or if I am working that hard, sometimes, three. I usually buy a gallon jug and drink out of that. It used to take me an entire day to drink it but now, I have a 95 minute class, and easily drink one in that amount of time. Not so much bottled water because I drink one in seconds. I'm a big boy so the consumption rates are higher. Drinking an entire gallon of water does draw some attention since people don't see that as being normal, especially if this is accomplished in minutes. Most of the time it is people joking that I could create a drought if I wanted to the way I drink water. This is my normal. It's my jug addiction. I can say that this also applies to how I drink milk as well.

Wow! That is a LOT of water. According to my weight, my son says that I need to drink 85 ounces per day to stay hydrated., So, I try to drink that much. I drink out of a measuring cup.

I think I am.
A doctor told me this long ago when I complained of fatigue.

I am very far from dehydrated. I drink anywhere from 8-12 bottles a day and sometimes more depending one my workout for the day. The bottles I buy hold two 8 ounce cups of water so I drink a lot, also I most drink water. I drink soda maybe once or twice a month and the rest is water, tea, milk, and organic juices.

That's good that you are one of the few that are not dehydrated. Most people are.
