My encounter with Feminists

So I was coming back from parents house to back home. And I get on this bus. And it was reservation seats. I found two girls in their early 20s with red dyed hairs sitting there. I asked them this is my seat. One woman claims you can sit elsewhere ..and another one said, you can sit on any vacant seat, are you travelling first time. And she laughed and said, go and complain all you want, we women ain't gonna stop now. So I moved to next seat which was vacant. Then another old couple arrived in next stop and they had reservation on seat where I was sitting. I told them the situation. And rest of seats being full I had to stand up. So the old woman made some space and asked her husband give me some space. I got to sit with them for next 3 and half hours. I can't imagine how they adjusted in such old age. I thanked them for this. She said, her son is of my age and she doesn't want something similar happen to him. So on the same day I experienced empathy of woman and at the same time seen the degraded evil form of feminism. Today it's me next is going to be someone else at this rate.

What those two women did was not any form of feminism. True feminist do not treat men any differently than they want to be treated themselves. Actually...on second thought...they clearly wen't feminists. Not all women are you know. Though i didn't understand the reserved seat situation.....the seats they were sitting on was reserved for who? Like for men? women? seniors?

Reserved seats mean you pay for them prior to boarding. same as reserved seats in train or flight.

@ms1864 it was not about the mood or place, it was threatening tone and mob power which gives such women edge. it'd be foolish to argue when I don't have that edge .. if I get any remote edge in such situation. i''d kick such people out of transport .. arguing is very mild thing i could do ..

oh...if you paid for them you totally have the right to make them move. But it looks like you weren't in the mood to argue.

I would not have sat with the old couple. If i don't feel like fighting, make sure that everyone else sees it and together we make those girls come to their senses.

@skysnap Not entirely true. People don't come forward on their own, alright. But you can create support.

@skysnap I guess if you say so....

@hora_fugit people by default support women. Whether they're wrong or right doesn't matter. Equality is farce. And support is always to such women.

If it's reserved seating- I would just let the bus driver handle the position. I can't get to my seat can you relocate me or get my seat? That's very rude of the ladies!

@skysnap That sucks! I'd definitely share the company my thoughts about what happen and they need to make sure everyone seats in property spots. Very sweet of the older couple allowing you to sit there!

the route had only 2 stops for next 3 hour journey. and driver seat area is wired and sealed and he doesn't deal with passenger issues. ticket collector gets off the bus after 1st stop and collecting all the tickets. so there was nobody to handle this issue.

@marlina,reserved is reserved, the driver must have placed a signboard reserved seats to avoid conflict.

That was a real encounter with feminism and still another with humanism. In the end you found a seat on the bus

if they took your seat, who go their seat? isn't there anyone in charge to make sure it's followed? it's ironic that the older couple were the ones who were kind-hearted.

the ticket check happens only when the bus starts. so their seat numbers were at the back and they didn't wanted to sit there. and so it was filled bby someone else before my absence.. these are festival days here so overflow in bus happens and people go on 6-7 hours travel standing up or sitting on floor. .

If it weren't for the mob that thinks "if women say its their seat now, it they are always right" , i'd have thrown them out :P

That's not appreciated (the attitude of the first 2). They're unbecoming! I admire the old lady (plus her hubby, of course)!

That's not feminism, nor female empowerment. All it was is rudeness. Some people are just downright rude and have no empathy for others. What a lovely older couple though. Very sweet of them.

Why is there a reserved seat in a bus? This is my first time gearing it. What the girls do to you, just let it pass by. Leave it ti Karma. Just be like the old woman and you will he rewarded from the above.

reserved seat means you book it few days prior to boarding the bus. this is long distance journey. not travel within city. so that's why there is a reservation in bus. this is private bus and not government one. so there is no justice sort of stuff and nobody cares for such incidents.
