Good morning, My Lot. As I was sitting here, waiting for my friend to come pick me up for our little adventure today (Apple Orchards) - I was watching some YouTube videos and would like comment on one. Here we have Buzzfeed's take on "Plus Size Women try on Plus Sized costumes". Hey, I didn't say I was watching intellectual videos or something. C'mon. Cut me some slack. Lol. Anyway. As the video implied it was plus sized women trying on "plus sized" Halloween costumes. It interested me because the "regular" sized costumes I see in stores look tiny, like they're for kids, and the plus sized ones I see look like they're for regular to small adults. (In other words it seems like costumes are sized smaller than regular clothing.) Well I actually didn't get the point of the video. They tried on the costumes, all of which fit and some of which actually looked alright. It's the comments that made me sad. One girl had PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome - and all of a sudden we had "internet experts" coming out of the woodwork declaring that PCOS doesn't have anything to do with weight gain, and that if they only worked out more the pounds would melt away, etc... Well I happen to have PCOS myself. Some people with PCOS do not exhibit weight gain. And myself and many others do. PCOS does make it easier for some people to gain weight and harder for them to loose it. While this is not an excuse, it is a contributing factor in why myself and others with this symptom are larger folk. But the internet trolls are out in full force, passing judgement. In this world that is full of violence and hatred - is being large really the worst thing a person can be? How shallow. Hopefully the same people will remember their own words and judgments if a health condition arises where they themselves are a few pounds larger. Link to the video:

@FayeHazel It looked normal. Not too exposing or anything either. Of course on YouTube there is always online bullies I hardly read the comments because of that

My niece has polycystic ovarian syndrome and she too has been on the receiving end of so called 'experts' giving unwanted advice.

Aw I'm sorry to hear it -- it's tough enough to have a condition like this, then people who act like they know all about it.....

I think no. But making ourselves a bit unhealthy because of poor discipline in eating or whatever we do extremely that causes us to get sick and makes our body unwell is a worst thing and a sin to ourselves. Being fat is not a sin, specially if it is inborn or hereditary, just makes sure they take care of themselves and feel great about it. There are lots of fat models who feel great and dress nicely and live healthy and they are so pretty (no joke)...

I agree, while I do not always make the most healthful choices, I try to behave most , at least some, of the time. But that's the beauty in everyone is different too. Beautifully written. Thanks for sharing.

People should just make their own halloween costume instead of making those ready made ones that will only look good on models.

I agree. That pre-made stuff is only going to look good on a small amount of people. Plus the fabric is so cheap ... it's better to assemble your own I think.

I think their point was that the Halloween costumes came in "One Size Fits All" and clearly 3 out of 4 of them were not comfortable in the way the costume fit them. It's just the generalization of all plus-sized women. Meanwhile, the slimier population have a variety of sizes to chose from.

I think you're right, ah yes - "One size fits all" is not always accurate. Again so true - I think my smaller size friends have a little easier time finding clothes that flatter....
