Everybody knows that how bad was the Japanese soldiers to all the people in East Asia and their war crime didn't limit in killing people. However, the government of Japan and including those right wings political party have done all they could to deny their historical crime during the second world war . They have tried to teach there next generation that they didn't do much bad things in history to people in East Asia. Can anybody tells me why they are worse than the German government. The German government at least has the guts to admit their fault in history and they felt sorry for what they have done to the world and especially killing 6 million innocent Jewish people and also paid back some money to the government of Israel to express their willingness to repent. but the Japanese government is not ? Even the Japanese in this generation also not feel like to talk about this issue as well. What do you think, Share with us ?

I think all Goverments who have done dirty stuff would like to sweep it all under the rug not just the Japanese if they can and if indeed it's true that there is no real admission on their part.( just a personal opinion)
In my personal observation these things are noticed because it's recent and because they lost the war. So many other atrocities were also committed in the course of man's history and I doubt they ever admitted, how about the Mongols, the Romans, Barbarians, Napoleone, Stalin, the Khemer rouge, etc etc etc.. remembered from time to time but almost also forgotten.

You should not compare Napoleon with Stalin : quite all civil laws in continental Europe have been inspired by the laws Napoleon gave to France, and no country was forced to keep them after Waterloo. I would not tell that he has not committed what we would call war crimes today, but for his time he was a humanist.

@louievill As a Roman archeologist I will also defend the Roman heritage, and I thought to do it when I was commenting
. The Roman Empire disappeared only in May 29th 1453 : Emperors were Christians and there were no more gladiators since a thousand years, so they managed to evolve...

@topffer OK then I agree with you, they reformed themselves, then maybe the Ottoman Turks should be forced to apologize for the sack of Constantinople
God only knows what happened there.

I can see why the Japanese government would want to sweep their crimes under the rug. But I don't know why they weren't prosecuted like the Nazis were, since the Japanese certainly committed many atrocities that were plainly war crimes. They were much more savage and brutal than the Nazis, except for the SS.
