Got Loads of Bookkeeping Done Finally and First Blooms on Cactus in Years

Finally, I got a lot of bookkeeping done. I got a major portion done before September but didn't save my work and then the program wouldn't let me in. Barry helped me find a way in, but I didn't get his answer until after I went in via a previously saved copy months before. So I lost all the work I did in the summer. I still have things to check out and I have to go through my checkbook and vendor bills and then reconcile everything from about May on, but at least I feel much better about it now. I may work on it again tomorrow since I won't have much time next week. The image is my Christmas cactus which I've had for several years now. It used to bloom twice a year on a regular basis, but these are the first blooms it's had in at least two years. I'm sure it wasn't producing flowers because I'd forget to water it too often. It would get enough water to keep it alive but that's about it. Now that I don't water my mom's flowers at her apartment since she's been moved to an assisted living facility, I make sure to do my own on a weekly basis. Only one side is getting buds so far, but if I continue to water it weekly, I'm sure the rest will catch up, or at least I hope it will.

I am sorry you lost all your work, that is so frustrating. Those cactuses can be temperamental, my mother had a Christmas cactus that insisted on blooming for Easter!!

@MarshaMusselman My mother's never bloomed more than once a year. But I agree, they have their own timing.

Christmas Cactuses tend to bloom twice per year. They can be at Christmas, or Easter and then again another time. It all depends on lighting and watering, I think. In fact, some stores sell them as Easter Cactuses too in certain areas. No matter when they bloom, I still call them Christmas Cactuses.

Well it's not completed, but I'm almost caught up on getting my invoices, payments and deposits in for the year. I still have to find some that are missing. I'm hoping I put them into the shoe box for the year which I've not looked at recently.

That's for sure, and it's nice to see you around these parts again too. I saw you earlier on someone else's post and meant to look you up. My computer is running slow or maybe it's my internet, not really sure.

It's not and there are certain things that I realized when I did them before that some figures weren't notated well enough. I'm missing a deposit or two also. But, I can email my bank and have them find my missing ones. I jus t want to make sure they are missing before I do that.

What is the program you use for bookkeeping and do you keep hard copy back ups/ Its great to have work done and finished...I feel that way when I get all the examination scripts corrected and marks entered into records...academic book keeping . The cactus will bloom all around am sure.
