Trunk or treating to keep occupied

Nothing is more important to me then my children's happiness. I am very miserable right now with tomorrow being the wedding I wasn't asked to go to.
I want to keep busy to keep my mind off my sadness. There are so many fun family events going on in the area that I am having a hard time deciding which things to so!
Going and doing these things will make them happy and it will make me feel a little better!
Tonight at 7 I am taking my two kids and my niece to a trunk or treat event at a local church. If we have time we are going to go to another one at a different church. Both events are from 7-9 but the second church is further away.
I took a nap after my sons school lessons so I shouldn't be tired while we are out.
The photo is of the shirt my daughter and I worked on as part of her Halloween costume. All I did was burn spots she did the rest!

This one only served hot cocoa but it was perfect because it was so cold. Then the second one we went to served donuts, capri sun, water, and popcorn inside after the trunk or treat was over.

@crazyhorseladycx My late husband loved Halloween and got all dressed up like a zombie each year for it. It was his favorite holiday so him not being around for it is something I struggle with each year.

People go to a parking lot usually at a church or school and they open their trunks that they have decorated inside spooky. I wish I had taken some photos to attach so you could see a few examples. One at a local church was a kennel for horses. They opened it up and let the kids walk in to get the candy. It was an ocean theme and the man and woman passing out candy were dressed as merpeople.

I took my kids to three different Halloween events today. One was a Halloween parade but as soon as we got there it started pouring so all 12 kids and their parents that showed up huddled inside a shed like building where they sell food out of during kids baseball games. My daughter won $5 as well as my son who also won a big lego set.
The second was a Halloween party and my son won another prize for ugliest costume.
The third was a Halloween parade where all particilants got a bag of candy and $1. That was followed hy a trunk or treat where my son flew into a rage at the end because I disciplined him and he got so mad he tore his mask off and must have hit his nose because he got a terrible nosebleed. He did wonderful the rest of the weekend except for this one episode.

The shirt looks very cool. Have a fun night of trunk or treating. It is a good idea to keep yourself busy this weekend and being Halloween that should be easy to do.

The trunk or treat only lasted about 10 minutes at the most so we went to the second one at the church farther away when we were done. It was a bitterly cold night and we had to wait in a very long line but it was worth it the kids had fun and the adults who decorated their trunks did a really nice job. One brought in a huge old tractor and had a baby cow in a kennel that was my favorite!
