Doctoring a Football - In the USA the National Football League requires that the football is to be inflated with air to the pressure of between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch. Imagine that the referees to a football game are so fussy that the team responsible for inflating the game balls have to use a little syringe to touch the required pressure up with real precision. Just for the fun of it, I grabbed up several images from Pixabay.com and played around with them using two photo editing programs. One of the editing programs used was "Paint.net" (Yes, it IS paint dot net) to change the image sizes and to make the "canvas" size of the football image longer on the image's left side and to install the injection syringe in place at the football (as it is being inflated, supposedly). The other photo editing program used toward the final image was one named, "GimPhoto. It was employed to "collapse" a part of the football such that it would seem to need more air. In the beginning of the processes, the football was seen to be fully inflated. These photo manipulations were thought of while I was watching today's football game 'twixt the Detroit Lions football team and the Houston Texans football team. They used properly inflated footballs as they contested with each other, but both teams might have had more fun on the field had they used the football I found over there on Pixabay.com. * * * * * * * * * * Image: Football & syringe from Pixabay.com, Composite by Gus Kilthau * * * * * * * * * *
