Contrary to popular belief, Hallowe'en is NOT a holiday to celebrate the Devil. Here's the facts:
Halloween's true origins go way, way back to the ancient Celtic and Pagan festival of Samhain (pronounced Sow-In). The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago Ireland, the United Kingdom and northern France, celebrated their new year on October 31st.
During this ancient celebration, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to keep away evil spirits.
What will you be doing tonight for Hallowe'en? I will be dressing up and watching Beetlejuice while giving out candy to the kids!

Sorry to hear that. Any particular reason why?

Never knew this fact. Although i have a question..
What's the point of dressing like a devil to keep the devil away?
Have any clue?
Or, I guess maybe those days the costumes were different.

I do not believe they dressed in costumes. That is a modern thing. Also if you dress scary you scare the demons away! LoL.

I only allow the kids who live in my building to trick or treat here - we are very secure as well.

This is my first Halloween in this apartment building and I doubt I'll have any trick or treaters. I have movies all set to watch. Popcorn will be popped and I'm planning a laid back Halloween for a change. Have fun! (and be careful if you call his name 3 times!) lol

I put up a note on our bulletin board in the apartment to let kids know they can trick or treat at my place between certain times in the evening. I hope you had a nice relaxing one!

@MissNikki Thanks for the info about Halloween!
Bettlejuice was on TV last night but I was watching The Addams Family instead.
Hope you had a good night!
