BARCELONA, Spain (Ticker) - Ronaldinho scored a sensational overhead kick as Barcelona thrashed Villarreal, 4-0, at the Nou Camp to stay at the top of the Primera Liga.
The Brazilian slotted home a first-half penalty and, following second-half strikes from Eidur Gudjohnsen and Andres Iniesta, put the icing on the cake with a stunning effort in the final minute as the Catalan side outclassed the visitors.
Ronaldinho's second goal saw him control a cross on his chest before unleashing an athletic volley high into the net from a tight angle while facing away from goal.
Meanwhile, in the day's only other game, Atletico Madrid came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad.
The visitors, who went into the weekend at the foot of the table, threatened to record a shock victory through Garikoitz Uranga's 24th-minute opener.
But European hopefuls Atletico struck back with 13 minutes remaining when Ion Ansotegi put through his own net.
