November 25, 2006 MILAN, Italy (Ticker) - Paolo Maldini was the unlikely hero for AC Milan as it won for the first time in a month in Serie A, defeating Messina, 1-0, at the San Siro. The veteran defender's 13th-minute strike helped the Rossoneri forget their recent struggles, although they still languish in 14th place in the table. The narrow defeat left Messina just ahead of Milan in 12th. In Saturday's other game, Chievo secured its first league win of the season in a lively and entertaining 2-0 triumph over Udinese at the Bentegodi Stadium. Victor Obinna was the hero for the hosts with a two-goal performance, his first strike coming on 31 minutes following an error by Udinese keeper Morgan De Sanctis. His second arrived from the penalty spot with just under 20 minutes remaining, sealing a victory that lifted the Verona-based club out of the relegation zone.
