It's a Quiet Halloween.. it's already 6:30pm and no Trick or Treaters?! How about you?

My boyfriend and I wanted to make sure we had enough candy for all the trick or treaters... so right before dinner we went out to go buy two more bags just encase - Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups & Snickers. So in total we will be giving out those along with Skittles + Starbursts!
But it looks like there aren't any trick or treaters yet.... But we don't have time to sit around so we placed a bucket that says, Please take one! Hopefully people will be honest and not take the entire bucket and leave so the next person will get some too!
How's Halloween going there? I think it's a quiet one because Halloween falls on a weekday since it's normally super busy!

I think the weather plays a role every year. We seemed to have rain and cold every year when my kids were little. No rain tonight but pretty chilly. We always prepared for about 100 kids but it dropped down to about 40 so we didn't do it the last couple of years. Hubby did it tonight but he was probably doling it out by the handfuls. When I looked out the window I saw older kids (early teens), not little kids.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, they usually start earlier, like 5:30/6:00, just before it gets dark. I think they started around 6:00 here. Hubby was back inside in time for The Voice at 8:00.

@patgalca We turned off the lights at 8:15pm - but we placed candy outside on a bucket with a sign. My boyfriend and I peeked at the peephole and it was cute hearing the kids! Take one and let's go! Or they'd be like Trick or treat - thanks to the door! It was cute.
We left the candy out at 6:15pm. No doorbells prior which was shocking! I was expecting trick or treaters to come around 5:30, by 6pm!

I did not see many early teens/older kids, but more little kids! Surprisingly it's a week day/school night and the crowd did not start until like 7:30pm which I considered pretty late!

We never get trick or treaters here. Possibly because I turn the hose on them when they come by. Just kidding.

It's also slow here. I read on Facebook that somebody posted "where are the trick or treaters?" I don't know if it's because of the weather or they are having a late start. My boyfriend and I also prepared more bags just in case we run out but looks like we got this covered tonight.

I think it is because Halloween falls on a weekday. We ended up getting a lot of trick or treaters starting at 7:30pm, but we turned off the light at 8:15pm.
We left candy outside in a bucket.

@Raine38 That made more sense and more safe but I guess some waited until after dinner and took a nice stroll.

@infatuatedbby Yeah, that could be it too. Business establishments here actually did the trick or treats on Sunday when kids and their parents are off work and school.

It seems like many are taking their kids out to halloween events or the mall - or because it was on a school night.
Last year did you get any trick or treaters? @Morleyhunt (21741)

Happy Halloween! Trick or treat started pretty early in my country. Kids have been trick or treating in the malls but not in our neighborhood. It's quiet here.

There were several events prior to halloween over the weekend. My nephew/niece took advantage of those. We got quite a lot of trick or treaters later in the evening at 7:30pm.
Happy Halloween to you too!

I didn't get to visit the cemetery because it was raining and couldn't leave our relatives behind.
