New York Jets claim off waivers running back C J Spiller

Ian Rapoport reports the news on Tuesday the New York Jets have claimed off waivers former Seattle Seahawks running back C J Spiller. Spiller will replace former Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers running back Knile Davis on the 53 man roster of the New York Jets. Spiller had worked out for the New York Jets on September 26, 2016 before he signed a one year contract with the Seattle Seahawks two days later. The Seahawks released Spiller on October 26, 2016. Spiller will be serve as the backup running back behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell. Spiller will be playing football for his third football team in the National Football League after he started his career in the league with the Buffalo Bills in 2010. Spiller also played two seasons with the New Orleans Saints in 2015 before he was released by the Saints on September 13, 2016.

Spiller got lucky also. These guys that got released are benefiting from the rash of injuries.
