Josh Alper reports the news on Wednesday Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner resigned after the Vikings lost their last two straight football games to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears.
The Vikings started the 2016 National Football League season with five straight wins but in their last two losses they only scored 20 total points.
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer had no intention of making a change in his coaching staff which the decision by Turner to resign on Wednesday shocked him.
Pat Shurmur will replace Turner as the offensive coordinator an interim basis. Turner succeeded Bill Musgave as the Vikings offensive coordinator of the Vikungs before the start of the 2016 football season when Mike Zimmer became the head coach of the Vikings replacing Leslie Frazier.

There must be more to his resignation than just losing two straight games.

My guess is that Turner was afraid he was going to be fired if the Vikings offense did not improve quickly.

I remember Al Davis always referred to him as Norvell when he coached the Raiders.

When I read this yesterday in the news I was shocked. I wonder if there was something else going on that led to his retirement. Like the players who chose to quit mid way through the season. Why not wait until the season is over. Far as I know they were able to play, just woke up and decided that was that. The Vikings have been my surprise team this season, like the Raiders. Have a blessed day.
