Do you still hand wash clothes?

I was wondering if any of you still hand washes your clothes. I have a washing machine in my basement and I barely use it. I know it might be easier and faster but I don't let my dirty laundry basket get full so there's basically no need to use it for a few clothes. I'll use it maybe twice a month. I mainly hand wash because when I was a little girl my parents hand washed my clothes and they taught me to do the same and that's what I've been doing ever since. I also feel like hand washing is more effective than a washing am home because I can scrub stains off with a brush and some baking soda. The washing machine doesn't remove all the stains. When I have a big family perhaps I'll use the washing machine more often, but as of now I'll stick to hand washing. Does anyone hand wash? I know some clothes in the back of them say to handwash only, do you follow that or just use the washing machine?

Yes because a washing machine can destroy delicate clothes and get caught in the machines drum especially if the shirt is made out of like silk.

If I find the 'handwash only' label, I hand wash the item. But it doesn't happen often.

Yes it's very important to always read the instructions on how to wash at the back. I made a mistake and ignored the hand wash only and my shirt shrunk.

@trivia79 every weekend. I don't let my clothes pile up so, that I'll need a sac to carry them.

With whites I'll usually add a bucket of water and 3 capfuls of Clorox and let them soak in there and then rinse and it's all nice and white with no stains.

I don't feel like I'm doing a lot of needless work. I wash every weekend and only have a few clothes to wash. I don't let my clothes build up and wash them every 2-3 weeks like some people do. It only takes me about 10 minutes. I soak my clothes in detergent for 5 minutes then I start pressing on them with a laundry plunger. Then I rinse them and press on the close to dry to get the detergent out with the plunger. Then I put them in a spin dryer and hang them up.

Agreed! See with hand washing you can easily scrub the stains off with a brush and baking soda.

Hand washing is necessary. But yes some stains are tough to remove even on hand washing. But I do not do all washing chores luckily.
