Favorite "Girls Name" Songs #9 - "Sheila take a Bow"

It took a couple of days, but we're at #9 in my Favorite "GirSongs" series. This one is the one that got this series going, thanks to a comment from@ FourWalls, who recommended The Smiths' "Sheila take a Bow. "
The Smiths have shown up quite a few times in these series' of mine. And rightly so. They are a big influence on alternative guitar bands to this day. What set The Smiths apart was Johnny Marr's guitar play and vocalist Morrissey's humorous lyrics, which would not worked as well with a sub par band behind him.
"Sheila take a Bow" was included on the band's compilation album Louder than Bombs. It's a fun listen, considering that Morrissey could do gloom and doom with the best of them. Funny gloom and doom, but gloom nonetheless.

Isn't Morrissey one of the greatest and most distinctive 80s voices? Great choice.
