ABC News reports the news on Friday the Arizona Diamondbacks have filled their vacant managerial position by hiring Boston Red Sox bench coach Terry Lovullo. Lovullo has a three year contract to manage the Diamondacks according to many sports sources. Lovullo has managing experience when he managed 49 games as an interim manager while John Farrel left the team to seek treatment for lymphoma during the 2015 baseball season. Arizona Diamondback general manager Mike Hazen hired Lovullo since he has worked with him in the past when they part of the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians organizations. Lovullo replaces Chip Hale who was fired by the management of the Diamondbacks at the end of the 2016 baseball season after two years which in my opinion was too short a reign of managing the Diamondbacks.

I remember Lovullo playing for the Angels. Sounds like a good hire but the D-Backs have been firing their manager every 2 seasons.

You are correct. Firing a manager after two seasons is not a good way to develop a good team to contend for a playoff spot.
