I don't know! I know our national emblem is the harp, and I think it must be the shamrock.
I loked it up on Wiki, and while it says it is the 'unofficial' flower, I think if you took ten Irish off the street, they would all answer the shamrock. Here is what Wiki had to say: "The shamrock, an unofficial symbol of Ireland and Boston, Massachusetts, is a three-leafed old white clover, sometimes (rarely nowadays) Trifolium repens (white clover, known in Irish as seamair bhán) but more usually today Trifolium dubium (lesser clover, Irish: seamair bhuí). However, other three-leafed plants — such as black medic (Medicago lupulina), red clover (Trifolium pratense), and Common wood sorrel (genus Oxalis) — are sometimes designated as shamrocks. The shamrock was traditionally used for its medical properties and was a popular motif in Victorian times. It is also a common way to represent St. Patrick's Day, a holiday celebrated on March 17. Shamrocks are said to be good luck."

Oh sure, the Bunga Raya, in English is Hibiscus is our national flower. Though there are many different brightly coloured flowers only the flower with red color is chosen as our national flower.
