fireworks ... are they too expensive ?

Fireworks are pretty expensive when I buy them, but that's because they aren't in all that much demand. I used to make my own smoke bombs when the chemicals were easily acquired at the local pharmacy. It's a little harder to find them these days.

Not having bought any since my teenage years in the 70s I have no idea what they cost. Of course, it's not just families that buy them - organisations purchase them for events. For decades our local council in Biurnemouth has put on firework displays on the seafront on Friday nights from late July to the August Bank Holiday weekend. These events draw tens of thousands of people so I guess they would say that they represent good value.
