I’ve been doing some research on some religious sites around the world and have found some very interesting information. No matter what religion a person follows, there are things to learn. Here are just a few that I am researching right now. I will mention them briefly and then hopefully will be able to find more information that I can share later. The information I have now is rather brief and in need of more substantiation so if anyone knows more about the subject, please feel free to correct me or add to what I have written. For Hindus, Banaras, India has the Temple of Siva, where over a million Hindus visit every year. First, they bathe in the Ganges River. Hindus believe that if their dead bodies or ashes are placed in the river, the Ganges will carry them to eternal happiness. In Rangoon, Burma, there is a magnificent shrine to Buddha called the Shive Dagon Pagoda. In Mecca, Saudi Arabia, There is the Great Mosque at which is a small building shaped like a box, Kaaba, which holds the sacred Black Stone that Moslems believe God sent from heaven. Wherever Moslems live, they face in the direction of the Kaaba when they pray.

Yes, and there are so many around the world to learn about. I'm going to see what I can find out. Are there any that you are particularly interested in?

@Ronrybs My actually visiting places is probably NOT going to happen any more. At my age, I'm finding that actual traveling is out of the question, but I can be an "armchair traveler" through reading and documentaries. The internet makes it so much easier to LEARN about all these ancient sites and there are photographs too, so that will have to suffice for me. I have been to 25 different countries and in 44 different states here in the U.S. I have been to many places of interest but there are many that I have NOT been to, also.

OH definitely! I have never been there, but have some friends who have been. I did write a small post about Vatican City being the smallest "country" in the world and how Russia is the largest.
