Hearing from An Old Classmate

I once had a classmate in a course last summer, and we worked together on a paper. We connected and we even talked about stuff outside the course. Since she has been a senior student and have taken the courses that I am due to take, she gave me pointers. We are not classmates this fall, but I missed her and sent her an email last month. I never heard from her so I thought maybe she has forgotten me, or my email got buried in her other emails, as I used her school email since I do not know her personal email. Imagine my joy when I found a response from her! It turns out that she is having some family issues that she has to skip school this fall and get back this winter term. She apologized for not responding for a month as she did not bother to check her school email since she is not taking any course this term. I am glad that she is doing fine, and I hope that she was able to take care of her family.
