The Breaking Bad / Walking Dead Theory

Is it really possible that Walter White's super meth caused the zombie outbreak on The Walking Dead? Well, yes but it wouldn't be something that would or could happen unless the original formula was tweaked to add a time release 'kicker' 12 to 24 hours after ingested. If the meth is so strong that it's killing people the initial wave of dead would be assumed 'just dead'. There is no way to know how much of the super meth was around at the end of the show My second theory is a bit more plausible because certain events needed to start a zombie outbreak have already happened. Roll back to 2012 in Miami when Rudy Eugene attacked people and eventually settled down for an 18 minute meal of Ron Poppo's face. The coroners report listed some of the drugs in his system but the southern states are not known for their accuracy when it comes to post-mortum analytics . They want data and they want it fast. With flakka / gravel, Krokodil and Scopolamine on the market it could be added to or used with meth or any of the smoked versions of crack, crank and crystal (meth). All three of those drugs have different side effects ranging from skin picking to memory loss and skin rot. But how does it all unfold? It really depends on who is ingesting the human flesh and what part of the body they are eating. If you eat the flesh of someone that has full blown TSE symptoms could start to manifest in weeks although that's not carved in stone. If you consumed the brains of someone that had TSE you could see symptoms arise in days, but again, some may be so subtle that they are overlooked. Not everyone that contracts TSE starts wolfing down human flesh in the blink of an eye; Mad Cow Disease is what started that insane pattern of thinking (no pun intended). Cows weren't going around eating each other but some had violent outbursts while others just lost control of their central nervous system. Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) So let's say I am on vacation and hook up with someone that practices cannibalism (killed or funerary) and they are a carrier of one of the prion strains from consuming the flesh of someone that has been exposed to TSE or consumed animal meat that is loaded with BSE. That is a blanket term that refers to any animal that becomes infected. If that person bites me or there is any commingling of blood there's an excellent chance that I too will end up with “cheese brain”. But in the world of Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead you get the chance to actually think about the repercussions of things. A good example of that can be taken from a recent episode of the Walking Dead when pigs were being allowed to eat the walkers. This could come out in future episodes of the show but doctors (in the real world) are still split on whether pigs can sustain an accommodating atmosphere for BSE. What happens if it takes weeks or months for the BSE to surface or worse, have it mutate into something completely different. If humans are consuming that it's going to be a time bomb that will eventually explode. Cannibalism has been around as long as humans have dragged their knuckles on the ground and grunted to communicate. It is still practiced in some remote villages in New Guinea to honor the dead. Zombies are cannibals, how they are turned into one in the big question. Even though there are a lot of people grumbling about the theory that Breaking Bad was the prequel to The Walking Dead, it is possible but there are a lot of dots that need connecting. I'm probably never seen either of these, other than once in a while in a bar.
