The smell of new electronics / myLot

I got my new laptop today, and wonder why do new electronic devices have a different smell that old-ish ones? What's in there that makes them smell so nice? This applies to every one - smartphone, laptop, tablets and so on.

I know that smell you are talking about. I like it especially when I am opening the electronic item from it's original box, like it has never been taken out of the box. Eventually it loses the smell.

i have noticed the smell of new books...but i never noticed it in new electronics....are you sure it is the smell of the device and not of the packaging?

At least when I smelled the device and cables directly they had this smell. I don't know whether the smell comes from the packaging.

Congratulations! I purchased my laptop about a year ago with Windows 10 OS and I was so excited to use it.
