Alex Speier reports the news on Tuesday Cleveland Indians president of baseball operations Chris Antonelli does not intend to trade left handed relief pitcher Andrew Miller to another team before the start of the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
Miller is owed $18 million dollars for the next two years of his current contract but based on his body of work during the playoffs in 2016, the Indians management who traded away some of their minor league players to acquire Miller from the New York Yankees before the end of the Major League Baseball deadline on July 31, 2016 want to keep Miller and right handed relief pitcher Cody Allen as part of their team in the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
If the Indians are not in contention to make a playoff run in 2017 by the Major League Baseball season, the Indians would trade Miller to a playoff contender if they receive in return some minor league players from the tea wants Miller to pitch for them.
Antonelli is playing his cards right by keeping Miller on the Indians roster for the time being.

The Indians have a real shot at making the series again next year with their pitching staff. Remember they played the post season without number 2 and 3 starters Carasco and Salazar and that's what did them in.

You are right that the talking heads at ESPN said if Cleveland had they not lost two of their starters they would be World Series champions.
