Garrison Keillor

Canada

I was trolling Facebook this morning while my coffee was brewing. A friend posted an article Garrison Keillor wrote about the election and it made me laugh. I am sharing it below. Garrison Keillor is a writer and radio personality who did his show on Minnesota Public Radio called “A Prairie Home Companion.” It was on the radio from 1974 to 2016. It was about a fictional town called Lake Wobegon and made me laugh out loud every time I listened to him. I actually found his stories on cd's in the library – you should ask about them if you never heard them. They are amazing. He is still writing and has been in the papers during the election process. The article below is about the different attitudes between between Hillary Fans and Trump fans and their expectations. Its not easy to laugh about the election because so many were disappointed by Trumps election and many are afraid of what he will do to our world. Enjoy! This was posted in the Washington Post.
The government is now in Republicans’ hands. Let them deal with Trump.

I frankly have had it with the media and anyone associated with it. I don't care what they think, I don't need or want their opinion, I voted my conscience and I assume everyone else did as well. It is what it is and I think we need to pray for our country and the world in general. Didn't we learn anything from all the crap that was slung by the media and the candidates before the election? I am guessing not!! They all have an agenda and theirs and mine are probably not aligned in any way. Okay that's my rant and I apologize for it but I am so tired of all the negativity on both sides.

@PainsOnSlate I think we have survived a lot worse and his early picks seem to be pleasing people.

@amadeo I know he will be with us for the next 4 years, I have faith he will zip his lips and get the help he needs, from what I understand, his Vice President is not any good either. I will have faith all will be ok. ....in the end, in his end, not the world's end...

i Ioved listening to him on the radio and our library had CD or Tapes we could take out like books. I had a state trooper in NY pass me and look twice as I was on the highway and laughing so hard listening to him that tears were running down my face.

I have been really surprised at all of the protests going on everywhere over Trumps win. I wasn't particularly happy over either candidate as president but there isn't a lot we can do but wait and see what happens.

@PainsOnSlate I will admit that I am a little scared that Trump will say the wrong thing and that we will end up at war with other countries. I really hope he proves me wrong.

@simone10 I'm more concerned for the non white Americans that are being harassed and the people he is putting in his group of thugs are not healthy for anyone who is not Lilly White.

@PainsOnSlate yes once he has wished and shook hand with our president(when he was newly appointed) and local media gave a huge publicity for that.

He is young and energetic, we love him. I have duel citizenship and there are others too who are American and living in Canada, we are the only ones who can vote from Canada. My vote didn't help this year...yet.
