I'm better but still need improvement

My blood lab test results were better than expected but still they need some improvement.
The normal range for a male for Creatinine in the blood is from 0.6 to 1.2 and mine is back to 1.27 from 1.5 in under 7 days, since I was taken off Lithium. This is hopeful news.
Additionally, my symptoms of mania and / or depression are not manifested at this time. My doctor indicated I may be good from this moment on for therapy and I was recommended to read a book called 'Mind over Mood' , a book by:
Dennis Greenberger and Chrisine Padesky
I am hoping to never have to take any medications for my Bipolar 1 and I am willing to try therapy over taking a medication that is clearly too dangerous to continue at this stage in my life.
For the first 18 years of taking Lithium, no ill effects were realized, but in the past 3 years, since 2013, there had been a clear indication of what has been termed by people in the medical profession as 'Creatinine Creap' , a gradual increase in creatinine in the blood attributed to the fact that the kidneys become slowly damaged from their constant exposure to this particular drug, which is very common in patients who have been taking Lithium Carbonate therapy for Bipolar Disorder for a decade or longer.
I am 59 years of age. I have had my ups and I have had my downs, but in my case they were extreme.

@snowy22315 , You know, I am very lucky to have a normal thyroid function after 21 years of taking Lithium because it is said to, in some cases, cause some degree of hypo or below normal thyroid function. I hope this is not the case with you.

It will be difficult to make the adjustments but I am older and wiser and because of this, I can maintain my composure while keeping in line and not acting like a clown. When I feel a bit on the manic side I will err on the side of keeping my mouth shut. lol

Wow, hope the best for you buddy. My recommendation would be to switch to cannabis. Not sure if you already have tried or not, but seems to me would be more effective and helps with the appetite. For me that is a good thing, but not so much for others. lol

At least you have reduced the amount of the Lithium carbonate which has serious by-effects.,even left off it-that is something.
