Tomorrow we get our food stamps and thank goodness because we have basically nothing else in our basement apartment and food is getting a little sparse upstairs too. I am mostly excited that I will now be able to grab all of my healthy snacks and foods for meals. I will be able to stop falling off of my diet because of lack of healthy options.
I have written up my grocery list, made it like 2 weeks ago. I am so ready to get back on track.
Any of you have any suggestions on what foods to buy? Do you try to get healthier options while food shopping?

Buy what's on sale. Shopping the loss leaders in the paper is a great way to save money. This week I got a ton of fresh produce from Sprouts... filled my cart but only paid $34 for everything. Fry's has petite sirloin on sale, so I grabbed a package of those to cook tonight.
Apples are cheap, as are bananas and pears and carrots. They all make pretty good snacks. We have a ton of berries in the fridge this week because they were all on sale. Lots of eggs, too... those are really versatile.

Good for you.
I'm going to do my grocery tomorrow. I try to keep it healthy but soda and chocolates are too tempting to pass up!

My shopping day is every other week. I'm choosing healthy foods for my son.

Food is so horribly expensive, especially healthy food. It is hard to know what to eat. Meat is out of the question most months. Fruit and fresh vegetables are usually too dear to buy much. I might buy one peach or nectarine. A bag of potatoes, carrots or onions go a long way to fill you up.
I'm glad you have stamps to get better groceries. It is the best way to stay healthy.
