HOW ADDICTED YOU ARE TO SOCIAL MEDIA?

I have a friend just came home from USA. One time we meet her and had a dinner with her. Ofcourse everyone was to excited to see her because its been how many years the last time we saw her. Then when we are in a restaurant, she keeps on using her phone. At first we just ignore it, but after we had our dinner we went to Starbucks to had desserts, but still she keeps on using her phone. I was sitted in her front but still we can see what she's doing on her phone. She's just browsing her Facebook, Instagram, twitter and etc… My point is, the attitude she had shown to us is so rude. If you are with you friends or family, as much as possible don't use you phone. Have a quality time with them.

when i met college friends and old officemates it was non-stop talking. maybe because the internet, cellphones, computers and social media weren't omnipresent back then. afterwards, they even had to ask me if it's okay to post our group pics on fb when they found out i don't have an account. hahaha! was it her idea to meet up? will you meet again before she returns to the us? did she foot the bill? hehehe.

@hereandthere yes, its her idea to meet us. I'm the only one she treat the rest pay their own bill. Hehehehe. Even our friends had observe her attitude. Before she went bact to US no one want to meet her again, even me actually, we just make an excuse that we are busy..

@dyoizzz_lj sounds like she really ticked off everyone the first time. imagine if it was just the two of you in the next meetup, you'd feel stupid sitting there while she's busy with her device.

@hereandthere actually one time she invited me to hung out with her. Sadly she still do it. And im too bored! You know the feeling that you are talking to someone then no one listens... That was I felt that time.

I love social media but i am not that addicted, their needs to be a separation when you are with actual people. Of course their are those moment where you can see a table of friends and they are all browsing on their phones their social media but we show each other the content we are looking at. Yet there has to be some control. This generation is the worst one because they live on it. I remember having to call a friends house to see if they wanted to go out. Technology is good but sometimes it is extreme the way people exagerate to it.

@dyoizzz_lj Social media should be when you are at home alone and bored or something like that. Not to use at all moments. Yyou dont need to share your whole life all the time on the internet. It isnt safe either.

I agree, I visited with a relative once and I was really trying to tell her something, since we hadn't spoken much, and all the time when I was speaking, her phone kept beeping and she kept answering texts. It was like she was half listening to what I had to say. I felt offended.

I know how you feel.. Its just like you want to talk to her but you can't really say that she's listening... That's why sometimes when we go somewhere I just wish that there is no signal or wifi available.

Yeah..this is one of the most annoying problems in the world these days. The obsession is bordering on insanity. When i go out with friends, i always keep my phone in my purse and only use it if i have to contact someone. When we are out with people, it is definitely rude to constantly be glued to it.

Exactly! That I also do. I will not bring out my phone not unless to contact somebody or if somebody called me. When I'm with my family, we have a rules that to keep our mobile phones especially when in the front of the food (having dinner or lunch)
