i remember when i first came here in the UK and we did 2 mins of silence to show respect and remember the nation's war dead for Armistice Day. people wear an artificial flower that has been used since 1921 to commemorate military personnel who have died in war, and represents a common or field poppy, Papaver rhoeas Link:

We have a similar holiday here in Manila, Veterans Day.

@therealmaryyy I don't think so. Araw ng Kagitingan is Day of Valor as far as I know. Not sure how we call 'Veteran's Day' in the vernacular.
