Jerry Crasnick reports the news on Friday the Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim have signed to a one year, $5.75 million dollar contract right handed relief pitcher Jesse Chavez.
Chavez, 33, will be joining the Angels as a starting pitcher in the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
Chavez became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when the Los Angeles Dodgers decided not to offer him a new contract at the end of the baseball season.
Chavez has pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays on two occasions and the Los Angeles Dodgers since he made his debut in the Major Leagues with the Pirates in 2008.
The Angels finished the 2016 Major League Baseball season in fourth place in the American League West Division with a record of 74 wins and 77 losses due to injuries to many of their starting and relief pitchers.

The Angels are filling out the squad from the junk heap. Chavez adds depth maybe but he's hardly an answer.

Good point that Chavez is just an additional arm on the Angels.
