articles or news or anything posted in social media may or may not be authentic. some websites exaggerate and fabricate information. facts which are meant to be facts are being manipulated or cleverly or unscrupulously by irresponsible journalism or people who wants to gain more readers or site visits.
we can point fingers and blame the "social media" in general... from most popular news websites CNN, BBC, USA Today, The Guardian, HuffingtonPost.... etc..
news are there to tell us something.. it's still up to us if we believe those information published online or not. i think it is more on how people react and respond to whatever news or articles they read online, hear in the radio and see in their televisions.
we; readers and the public needs to be responsible too.

No doubt that social media played a vital role in the previous US Elections. The same can be said about the Philippine Elections. Steps need to be undertaken by the people behind these platforms so that these entities can't be used to spread lies and malicious rumors.
