Finally! We're at #1 in my Favorite Guy's Name" Songs series. And the winner is: Poe, and her 1995 tune "Angry Johnny."
Poe, whose real name is Anne Danielewski, earned her stage name after, as a youth, she attended a Halloween party dressed as Edgar Allen Poe. She is, according to Wikipedia, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
From her 1995 Gold record debut, Hello, "Angry Johnny" is a jazzy tune, albeit a jazzy tune with what some might call disturbing lyrics. The song received a lot of alternative radio airplay, and the accompanying video was a staple on MTV, yet I can find no evidence of any chart action whatsoever.
Which is unfortunate, because "Angry Johnny" is a great tune.

You are right Poe and the song received heavy alternative play back in the day.

I've seen her twice, the first time she opened for Depeche Mode. If you get the chance to see her, she puts on a good show.

I write about her once in awhile. You might be remembering one of those. Not sure how she's done over there.

@teamfreak16 I am not an expert on musical tastes, so she may well be a roaring success

I was going to use Peter Tosh's version of that, but it didn't make the cut.
