The Inquistr reports the news on Sunday the Toronto Blue Jays are interested in making a trade with the New York Mets for outfielder Jay Bruce. Bruce would be a platoon outfielder with the Blue Jays along side Melvin Upton in their outfield during the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Bruce played outfield for the Cincinnati Reds from 2008-2016 when he was traded to the New York Mets on August 1, 2016 in exchange for minor league players Dilson Herrera and Max Wotell. Bruce during his short stay with the Mets with eight home runs and 19 runs batted in which did not impress the Mets management. In case the trade for Jay Bruce is not able to be completed, the Blue Jays have their sights set on free agent outfielder Josh Reddick.

Overall Brice had a good year. I would think whatever the Mets do depends on Cespedes.
