Years ago, The Oakland Raiders were stocked with colorful characters, one of them being the late John Matuszak, #9 in my Favorite Raiders Players series.
The Tooz, as he was called, played for multiple teams, but made his mark with the Raiders. Matuszak accounted for seven fumble recoveries and a touchdown (this was before the NFL started using quarterback sacks as a stat.) With the Raiders, the defensive end played on two Super Bowl winners.
According to WWikipedia, Tooz also placed ninth in the World's Strongest Man competition. He was also an actor, notably playing in The Goonies and North Dallas Forty.
A notorious party animal, Matuszak once got caught breaking curfew the night before the Super Bowl, partying in New OOrleans' French Quarter. His excuse? He had to go out and party to make sure none of his teammate's were breaking curfew.
Hilarious!
My tribute to one of the wildest and craziest players of all time. After wearing out his welcome with 3 other teams, he joins the Oakland Radiers as his 4th ...

@Ronrybs - He never missed a game from it. Played hard, too.
