“Will I wake up? Some dream I made up No, I guess it’s reality Say a prayer for me” I liked this song from the get go. “Plowed” blasts off with supercharged energy and roars to the end. Sponge is a Detroit alternative rock band that is still together and never made it to the big time. From their debut CD “Rotting Pinata,” “Plowed” is Sponge’s best known song reaching Modern Rock#5. The band’s only Billboard Hot 100 entry was “Molly” at #55. “I’m buried by the sound of a world of human wreckage Where I’m lost and found and I can’t touch the ground I’m plowed into the ground” What an uplifting song! From grunge to Britpop, depressing songs dominated the alternative music scene in the 90s. That is the appeal You can identity and emphasize with the words. Unlike a Nirvana song, “Plowed” is a raucous rocker that happens to be a downer as opposed to wallowing and moaning and groaning in misery. “Will I wake up? I didn't care for disco in the 70s and now it's a guilty pleasure.

OMG, this song takes me back to college/university days when I first heard it. Theme so desperate and melancholic, yet the music is so charged! What an awesome tune! Seriously makes me want to return to the 90s AND STAY THERE. Haha! Thank you for sharing this. =)
