We're at #6 in my Favorite Raiders Players series: running back Marcus Allen. Marcus Allen split his career between the Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs, and much of his time in the silver and black was spent in late Raiders owner Al Davis' doghouse, which makes his numbers even more impressive. Allen was a Heisman Trophy winner out of USC when drafted by the Raiders. As a pro, he was a two time Super Bowl winner (and MVP of Super Bowl XVIII.) He was a six time Pro Bowler, and the NFL MVP in 1985. According to Wikipedia, Allen is the only player to win a Heisman, an NCAA championship, a Super Bowl, NFL MVP, and Super Bowl. He is also in both the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame. Numbers wise, Marcus Allen ran for 12,243 yards, caught 587 passes, and scored 144 touchdowns. And yet, Al Davis didn't like him. No amusing stories here, but the man was one hell of a player.
Marcus Allen, said to be one of the most complete all around football players of his day, ranks at #85 on our list of the top 100 greatest players in the NFL...

You might have. The Raiders have played in London a couple times. They play in Mexico City today.

@Ronrybs - the NFL sees London and Mexico as an untapped revenue source. They've been talking about putting a team over there for awhile now.

Who can explain crazy Al Davis except for maybe he's a shifty character. Allen was a tremendous player. When you list these names, it's a reminder of how great and fearsome the Raiders once were.

I know. That last decade or so was a nightmare.
