Arizona Diamondbacks hire Ron Gardenhire to be their bench coach

Steve Adams reports the news on Thursday the Arizona Diamondbacks have hired former Minnesota Twins coach and manager Ron Gardenhire to work as their bench coach.
Gardenhire was a coach for the Minnesota Twins from 1991-2001 and manager of the team from 2002-2014.
Gardenhire worked as a special assistant with Twins general manager Terry Ryan during the 2016 baseball season.
Gardenhire will serve as the mentor to Diamondbacks rookie manager Torey Louvullo who was hired by the team on November 4, 2016 to replace Chip Hale.
