Jeff Passan reports the news on Thursday the Houston Astros have reached a contract agreement with former Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Josh Reddick.
Reddick became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when his contract with the Dodgers expired.
If Reddick does pass his physical exam, he will likely sign a four year, $52 million dollar contract to be the outfielder of the Houston Astros who finished in third place in the American League West Division with a record of 84 wins and 78 losses but did not qualify to make the playoffs.
The Astros also added former New York Yankees catcher Brian McCann to their roster via the trade route in exchange for cash considerations for right handed pitchers Albert Abreu and Jorge Guzman on Thursday.
The addition of McCann and Reddick to the Astros roster should improve their chances to make a playoff run in 2017.

They spent some bucks for Reddick. If McCann is to be DH, what happens to Evan Gattis?

I do wonder what all items they must pass for an athletic physical exam
