Fox Sports North reports the news on Friday the Minnesota Twins have placed on waivers third baseman Trevor Plouffe. One reason the management of the Twins decided to have Plouffe on waivers is due to the fact they were not willing to pay him his $8 million dollar salary in his final year of his contract before he would hit the free agent market after the 2017 Major League Baseball season would end. Plouffe, 30, refused to join the Twins AAA minor league team the Rochester Red Wings so he decided to test the free agent market before the start of the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Miguel Sano will likely replace Plouffe who played third base for the Twins from 2010-1016 as their starting third baseman in the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Plouffe should be able to find employment with another team before the start of the 2017 Major League Baseball season.

I am stunned. They must have found no trade partners. Plouffe has some pop in his bat and there will be plenty of suitors. The Dodgers may view him as a cheaper young option to Turner.

You are correct on this matter. A blessing in disguise for Plouffe leaving the Twins.
