Reuters report the news on Friday the Toronto Blue Jays have signed former Kansas City Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales, 33, to a three year, $33 million dollar contract.
With the signing of Morales to a three year contract, it is nor likely that Edwin Encarnacion will return to the team in the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
Morales is a ten year veteran of the Major Leagues who has played since 2006 with the Los Angeles Angels, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals.
Morales will likely be playing as the designated hitter of the Blue Jays for the designated hitter of the American League East Division team.
Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins insists the Blue Jays are doing what they can to sign Encarnacion to a new contract to keep him on their roster for next year.

He essentially replaces either Bautista or Encarnacion.
