How do you cope up when family atmosphere is tensed..
When members don't talk to each other ,they simply dont spend time together to the extent they don't even sit together.
Is it generation gap..
Is it always the younger ones who have to follow the rules..
What should be done if the younger generation is really hurt with their parents.
Especially a man who cares for his parents so much....
I'm really feeling sad for my husband.

Try to know the test of others . If you can fulfil their test then I think tension will be less. If you can't try to avoid them or ignore them

I would like to say that younger ones should always be respectful to elders, come what may. If elders are not happy with younger ones, all should sit together and communicate with each other. Communication is must for sorting out any issue. Sitting idle or not talking to each other does not solve any kind of problem.

@amitkokiladitya - I can understand that sometimes elders just do not want to listen to youngsters. However, younger ones should still try to put across their point of view and try to convince elders. One should not lose heart and keep trying, keeping one's ego aside.
All the best.

Thankfully, that has not happened in my family. Much of my family lives far away, but I can't see us getting into big disputes for the most part.

@amitkokiladitya I don't do so well when there is tension. I've always been that way. It makes my stomach hurt and sometimes makes me wish I could run away. I am the youngest and I've had MANY occasions where I felt like I was the adult to try and take care of everything and everyone.

Yes. This is so true. The younger ones are often loaded with a lot of responsibility and this is what makes them feel so burdened
