Jack be nimble,
But not for long.
Something was
Very, very wrong.
Jack twisted
His leg.
Oh what pain.
Jack fell down
In the rain.
Jack started
Coughing.
His cold came on quick.
Poor Jack
Was feeling very sick.
Jack got assistance
From his pal Nick
The roads were getting
Very slick.
The electricity went out.
Jack asked for Nick
To grab hold of a
Candle stick.
Jack went into his bed,
Swollen leg and all.
He took out his phone
And made a call.
"Hi mom, I'm sick
And my leg is in pain.
Could you bring me some
Soup in the rain?'
His mom brought some soup.
Jack smiled and ate.
Mom went home saying,
"it's very late."
In the morning, Jack's pain
Was much, much better.
And so in turn
Was the sunny weather.
The electricity came back.
The candle stick shrunk down.
Jack called Nick
And made a happy sound.
"Thank you Nick.
You are my best friend."
With that Jack ate breakfast,
And his cold did end.
All is well.
Jack is quick once more.
Hope you looked this tale
And didn't find it a bore.
