This happen to me when I was growing up too but nonetheless I felt careless.

My year old baby went in my refrigerator, I have nothing dangerous in my refrigerator... This appeared not to be so because she took out and bite on a hot pepper that I happen to be using yesterday. Her tongue was flush red and she kept fanning her mouth but conveniently I had some smoothie that I had prepared this morning from soy milk and bananas and papaya that I stuck in the freezer. I was starting to get worried but strangely it soothe her mouth in no time. I also ensured that her hands was also wash because I was afraid of it getting into her eyes. This happen to me too when I was young child and my mother gave me a table spoon of sugar to quench the fire that was in my mouth, I remembered crying and rubbing my hands in my eyes it was a very dramatic experience. I am happy that my baby handled it better than I did as a child, I was such a drama queen.

Poor little darling I am glad you were able to take of the heat quickly so that she could have some relief. Her poor little mouth must have been on fire.

There is something about refrigerators that attracts babies. I have a photo with my two year old many years ago sitting in the refrigerator. Of course he survived and is all grown up now. Glad to hear your baby is OK now.

Glad things went well as those hot peppers, especially the Jamaican ones can be very hot.

I'm glad that there was no real harm done, but not a very pleasant experience for your child.
