What is your feeling towards the story of Romeo and Juilet ?

I first learned about this story when I was about 14 years old. I didn't have much feeling at that time since I was too young to have any feeling about them. I was forced to study this story because it was one of my text book stories. When I grew up, I started to know more about this and then more movies came out about this story and I started to see this story with different attitude. Well, I just feel that it sounds a beautiful love story but a sad one and not a very good example for the youth anyway. Maybe people will have different feeling towards this story and it is your turn to share with us then.

I think the story could have been a beautiful love story but their families did not allow them to be together. If it would have turned out better and they did not die and could live happily ever after I would have loved to see.

It's an eternal life story due to Shakespeare's play. But I don't agree with you that it is not a good example for the youth. Although it is sad, this story confirmed values and that the love could be an eternal feeling due to the art. Love sometimes requires victims.
