Ken Rosenthal reports the news on Thursday former Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim utility player Sean Rodriguez, 31, has signed a two year, $11.5 million dollar contract with the Atlanta Braves.
Rodriguez made his debut in the Major Leagues in 2008 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Rodriguez has played baseball for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2009-2014, and the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2015-2016.
Rodriguez became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when his contract expired. The Pirates along with the Toronto Blue Jays were interested in signing the utility player before he was able to reach his two year contract with the Atlanta Braves on Thursday since his is able to play all four infield positions and the three outfielder positions when he is needed to during the 2017 Major League Baseball season for the National League East Division team.
